Are the interviews extremely important?

I decided to apply to Wake Forest a little too late to have an interview. Now I am really liking the school and want to really increase my chances in getting accepted. Do I still have a decent chance if I don't even get an interview? (Assuming my essays are pretty good).

*Bump because I am wondering the same thing

I never got an interview, but I am legacy. I’m not getting in

Interviews are highly encouraged, but if you cannot get one, you will still have a nice chance. Good luck, and go Deacs!

I tried scheduling a Skype interview but they were all booked. I applied regular decision test optional and like the OP am worried that not getting an interview will hurt my chances. Is there another way to show genuine interest?
