Hey guys, I was talking to my counselor the other day and she said that the best summer programs were the ones that were free. Is this true? And, regardless of whether they are free or not, does anyone know any really good summer programs. (i mean ones that really are "WOW" and prestigious)

I don't think so.......however the Governors Programs r definitely pretty prestigious.

Yes, generally the most prestigious programs are free, or at least offer need-based scholarships. And the most prestigious programs are probably RSI (Research Science Institute) and TASP (can't remember what this stands for). Someone else will be able to put together a good list of prestigious programs, and there's also a thread on this that you can find if you search for it.

i would say that the best programs are free because students are picked without concern for whether they can pay for the program, but on their merits.

which ones are u guys talking about? i was mostly just thinking about cosmos or epgy...

so, yeah, what r the free programs......any one knows something else other than those governors thing?
