are the subscores or composite score more important for the act?

I was wondering how admissions officers look at ACT scores because my subscores are extremely high for reading and english but very low for science and math. Would that hurt my chances? My reading subscore is a 32 and my english subscore is a 33 while my science subscore is a 23 and my math subscore is a 22. How would that help/hurt my chances of getting into the schools I’m applying to? Idk if this matters but all of my schools are small + liberal arts.

oh, and many of them are test optional.

Probably stating the obvious but best if you are humanities vs. anything STEM related. Anyways, I would think the composite is most important but subscores are a factor in admissions. Nice scores on E and R. Good luck.
