Are the supplement questions asking the same thing

I am an engineering prospect at Brown and as i was filling out the supplment essays these questions were very similar:

Many applicants to college are unsure about eventual majors. What factors led you to an interest in the field of Engineering?
2. What experiences beyond school work have broadened your interest in Engineering?
3. Brown offers programs in Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering. Because there is a common core curriculum within Engineering, students need not select a specific area until their junior year. We are curious to know, however, if any particular program within Engineering presently appeals to you. If so, please discuss that choice

and this one:
Why are you drawn to the academic fields you indicated in the Anticipated Degree and Academic Interest questions above?

…Does this mean I talk about engineering in both questions? Wouldnt that be a little redudant? and if you already applied, how should i go about answering these two questions distinctly?

bump. I had the same question, anyone with an answer?

I used the science prompt to talk about why I’m interested in my primary choice and I used the short answer to talk about why im interested in my secondary major choice. I didn’t feel being redundant or making something up.

my problem is that I am interested in physics and engineering for some of the same reasons. Any help with that? a lot of the questions on both are the same.
