Are the two application essays used for determining scholarships?

Hey guys, I'm almost ready to submit my UT App. I'm val at my high school so I guess I'm guaranteed admission. I just don't know if I should take essay B very seriously, because I'm using essay A as my common app essay, so B will only serve a purpose for UT.

I want to know if they use essays A and B for determining scholarship winners, because then I would want to put a lot more work into this.. otherwise I need to just get this stuff submitted (since admissions are rolling) and start doing the scholarship-specific essays. Any info would be grrreeeeatly appreciated (particularly if you have a link to substantiate it with, but either is fine).

Thanks guys!

Re-read this page. It talks about completing the “essays” plural, so that suggests both A and B. And then it refers you to p. 5 of the Scholarship section of the app to learn about additional essays or other supplemental info that may be required.
