I don't know much about Penn's frat parties. Are there a lot of wild ones? I know Penn isn't a huge party school but I was just curious.

I would say there are a lot. Much more than comparable schools academically, at least. Watching the groups of 30 freshman boys walking around during NSO is always a treat.

To incoming freshman: bring girls or expect to not be let in.

Yeah, pretty much what chocoman said. The biggest parties are usually registered parties, but they're not particularly fun because you can only get beer or wine, and there's an alcohol monitor. The truly wild parties occur when frats just have friends over. I've found that as students get older, they age out of the random frat party thing. People either go Greek, and choose to make that their social scene, or decide it's not for them and stick to house parties and going downtown.
