@theloniusmonk Obviously. Duh. I’m talking about /my experiences/ of what is it like to be /in class/ for /humanities courses/. Look at what I said about the social sciences and other courses. The /experience/ of being in class seems to be OP’s central reservation about technology.
My daughter and most of her classmates took notes the old-fashioned way at Wellesley. But of course they used their laptops for research and to write their papers.
I’m pretty sure the OP is no Luddite. He or she just wants an environment where people aren’t attached to their screens and where you can take notes in a paper notebook, read textbooks, watch live lectures, and have discussions. And there are plenty of colleges like that.
