Just seeing if there is anything out there worth reading about the industry to pass time.

WSJ is the best thing to read, its not a magazine.

Likewise with The Daily Deal (owned by Bruce Wasserstein) basically this puts out news regarding the latest mergers and buyouts every day. Pretty damn informative, lots of good reading. Too expensive (30 dollars a month) for me, I ended up just using my school's Lexis Nexis access for this because I wasnt willing to pay it.

The Daily Deal also has a magazine called Corporate Dealmaker(1 issue every 2 years). This will allow you to learn about deals going on between corporations, how they're structured, who the players are, but it's better reading for someone interested in corporate development (an exit op for bankers)

You could read The Economist if you want a real broad idea of current events and everything.

there's also Mergers & Acquisitions Journal if you want.

Unless you're prepping for an interview there's no real reason to grab subscriptions to any of the above. A lot of good info and articles can be found simply on the internet. The NYTimes puts out a great blog called-

http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/

over here they break down activity by industry, so you'll see articles about banking, venture capital, HFs, etc. So thats really good.

Thank you for the information :).
