I know that there is orientation for those who are already enrolled, but I have found nothing regarding those who are admitted. If there are no overnight opportunities, is there still something similar where one can meet professors and sit in lectures/classes? Or at least be able to visit dorms; there’s only so much that the diagrams on the webpage can detail…

Are you in Honors? There used to be overnights for Honors accepted students only. Not sure if that is still the same, but I guess it to be.

I don’t know if there any official ways to go about doing those two things, your best bet would be to contact the housing office ( [University Residences and Dining Services](<a href=“Page Not Found : Housing and Residence Education”>http://urds.osu.edu/) ) for overnight stays and to contact professors directly about sitting it on their classes for a day.

Do you know which classes you want to sit in for?

I am in Honors, and I sort of have an idea of what classes I would like to sit in… But I’d rather have it be a group thing, you know? I don’t want to be the only non-student in a lecture lol (unless that’s normal/it occurs often).

I’m a student at OSU now, and honestly no one will really care or mind. It’s especially true for the bigger classes, there are a bit over 90 people in my philosophy class and I don’t know anyone in the class, so people might not even notice you. :P

As long as the professor is cool with it, you should be fine. If you know what the departments are for the classes you want to sit in for, you can look up the professor’s email address and contact him or her.

While I was living in the dorms I hosted an honors student for an over-night visit, and took her to one of my classes, so I know you have the opportunity to do so formally.

Alternatively, if you know someone at OSU, you could visit them, and go to their classes with them.

The larger classes are usually fairly anonymous, and will have open seats, so you could easily walk in and take in a lecture if you wanted. Emailing the professor might be a good idea ahead of time.

After my son was admitted earlier in the year he received around March an invitation for “Go Buckeye Day” which was an organized overnight event hosted by the admissions office. The event was held around April 9th. If I remember correctly it covered areas asked by Orbinfinite. I would check with admissions and first years experience to see if the Go Buckeye Day again and make sure you get on the invite list.

Hope this helps.
