Are there any people who actually enjoy parties?

I keep reading threads like " I don't like to party" and " everyone's so stupid, they party all the time"...

I'm still in hs and like to party( don't do it a lot though, but that will change in college lol), so does anyone else here like to party?

Yes. Usually only on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday nights though.

Define a “party”? Like LAN party or drinking party?

I like parties because I like meeting new people, dancing, and just hanging out. Plus parties usually have good food, which is always a bonus.

what’s LAN party?

btw i’m russian ( like a real one, i grew up there and i’m not jewish) so don’t tell me drinking is bad, especially while partying))))
so yeah, i definitely include drinking parties)

“what’s LAN party?”

Local area network… pc video games from what I gather…

Never heard of a LAN party.

LAN parties are fun, though I doubt you’ll see much, if any, in college.

I personally like normal parties because it allows me to meet new people. I’m not really into the hookup scene, though.

Haha I hang out with MIT kids sometimes, which is why I now know what a LAN party is.

I’m Russian, too! A “real” one, born in the Soviet Union. However I don’t drink…

Ever wonder why Russian women are gorgeous until the age of 30? Yeah, the drinking and smoking finally catches up to them.

In general, women do not process alcohol as well as men do. Men are able to process it with the stomach and the liver, but with women it goes directly to the liver. Women are also more likely to have brain problems due to excessive drinking.

Also, I don’t need alcohol to act drunk. :]

But really, a party is whatever you want it to be, right?

Yeah I love parties.

Can’t stand bars/clubs though.

I like some parties.

Basically, if you go big, you gotta go all the way: completely drunk, skanky clothing, and tons of dancing. Otherwise, small gatherings to drink/etc with friends are the way to go.

I’m thinking CC doesn’t necessarily tend to attract the kind of people who like partying, demographically.

That said, I like parties. I’m past the point of wanting to go to big ridiculous things all the time, but they can be fun once in a while. Clubbing is a good way to blow off steam, and these days my favorite is just having ~10-15 people over to my apartment to drink a bit and hang out.

i only go to dinner parties, which i do like. free food.

I think Lesha has put way too much thought into this :P

I heart real parties, not LAN parties.

Hate parties in creepy places where the guys are afraid to ask girls to dance. Think middle school dance transported to frat house- went to one this weekend and it sucked in major ways. I made some dorks (nothing against them, but why can’t they just go do something they actually enjoy instead of pretending to have fun at a frat party?) REALLY uncomfortable by dancing with them, haha.

Seriously, I thought I was a nerd before I came to college. Now I’m feeling more and more normal.

I enjoy them, but I’m not a big drinker.

Dancing requires a sort of emotional and physical intuition which I just don’t have.

Parties are cool- but you have to remember there are different kinds of parties. There are crunk, off the wall parties and there are mild chill parties. You probably went to the latter.

And don’t be hatin’ on the dorks, who else are you going to marry 10 years from now? JK

I can tell the difference between a chill party and a dancing party- there were chill areas at that party, but there was a room with music and dancing.

And I’m not saying I don’t want to marry a dork- I’m actually primarily attracted to dorks- but I’m also not into guys who pretend to like to drink and party when they would rather just stay in and talk. There’s a difference between people who I’d want to talk and go on dates with and people who I’d want to dance and party with- and you expect to find the latter at a frat party.

I mean, I’m not that amazing of a dancer either… but the whole “Hey… um… my friend Dan wants to dance with you…” thing was happening waaaaay too much. I swear that I don’t have cooties. And I’m not intimidatingly beautiful or anything- normal looking girl, nothing scary. Guys, if you want to dance with a girl, ask her yourself. Same goes for girls asking guys. It carries on from middle school. Confidence makes you sexier.

I like going to parties (usually the music-blasting, drunken dancing kind), but I only do it on friday and saturday nights. I’m not flunking out of college just because I want to have fun, though I know a lot of girls at my college who probably will.

I have fun at them. I’m more into the more chill, smaller ones. I occasionally go to the bigger ones, but it’s not really my thing. I just hate when you get to a party and everyone is already trashed–that just makes for a bad night.

Only if there is dancing.
