Does anyone know the average SATs for legacies? I was just curious if they were significantly lower.

As far as I know, they don't separate that from average SATs for early decision applications - ED SATs are about 30 points total lower (math and verbal sections )based on the old SAT.

I would guess that legacy SATs might be somewhat lower -not necessarily significantly, though. I got the stats from my GC for all the kids that got into Penn for my HS from a few years ago(most recent available). Stats showed GPA and SAT scores for each individual who applied and then whether it was an ED application, and whether the person was accepted, deferred or denied. Bottom line, a couple of kids with 1200s or 1300s did get in early - and I'm sure they were legacies or employee kids(we have a lot of those here since we are only 10 miles from Penn. But every year we have a number of legacy kids WITH stellar scores applying too.

On the other hand, I've known legacy kids with great stats who were outright rejected.
