Is there power/ethernet outlet in lecture halls to connect laptops?

there are power outlets to the side. Now Ethernet you don’t need UCR has the best wifi of the UCs.

depends on lecture hall. there are limited outlets in each room. It just safer to have a good battery…or get to class early to sit near the outlets against the wall. Some have outlet in the ground so look around for those brass metal covers.

yeah, get the good seats near the side :P

My laptop came with a 12 cell battery, would last for 5-6 hours :D

How about desk size wise would 14’’ be more fit than a 15.6’'?

your good. my toshiba is about the same size

So 15.6’’ is okay?
I cant decide what size to get

You’ll be fine with 15.6 inch.

17 inch is bulky, 14 inch laptops are underpowered, IMO

No the 14’’ I am deciding over have nearly identical components.

14 inch laptops are definitely not underpowered. For gaming, sure. But for web browsing and word processing, they are good enough.

ibm thinkpad edge 14 has a core i3 so does the hp 42t
I already have a gaming desktop no point in a gaming laptop

yeah and i’m sure every 14 inch laptop has a i3 core

and paolo, netbooks can do word processing and browsing too
Does that mean they’re not underpowered >: O

if i knew i was gonna get a netbook, i might have gotten a bigger size laptop (it’s 15.6). it made my bag/backpack heavy as hell… so i was like eff this… and got a netbook. i only use the laptop at home.

seriously though, if you can afford a netbook… i think it’s a REALLY good investment.

yah you are right
So which one will be more comfortable on the lecture desks 14’’ or 15.6?

In terms of comfort it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference, I’d say you’ll be fine with either size.

the lecture hall desks are usually small enough that a 14 inch laptop will be too big anyways

Now im extremely confused because I can’t choose between the two sizes for a laptop

For me, 15.6" was way too big for the lecture hall desks. Get the 14" unless it’s much weaker than the 15.

its the same specs just a small price difference

If you are not used to carrying books and a laptop at the same time, be prepared to torture your spine. If you are weak and wimpy like me, be ready to regret opting with the 14" thing.

I have a 15.5" but based on real specifications: netbooks are much lighter than 14 inchers while 14 inchers are not that much lighter than 15.5 inchers.

This is what I would do if I had the money: one gaming and multimedia laptop home use and short travels AND one netbook for campus use and long term stay on campus.

So is it really common to bring laptops to lectures and take notes? My 5 year old battery will only live for like 30mins haha.
