Are these acceptable EC's?

I am wondering if the things I consider extracurricular activities really are ec's. If anybody can tell me what would count as extracurricular activity please do so.

-I play the piano. Well actually I'm learning. I used to know how to read music, not anymore, but I can learn a song by looking at a tutorial in youtube. I'll be taking lessons later
-I help my father in his work during the weekends. It's kind of a restaurant, but not really. I've helped by serving the costumers, cleaning, and charging the costumers. I don't get paid, and I do it because I want to.
-In my culinary arts class my teacher has a restaurant every minimun wednesday at my school after school. My class only has to go help one time but I've gone more. I've helped with the dishes, I've been a cashier, and serving the drinks.
-AP club. Pretty much the only thing I did was sell healthy snacks to collect money to pay for my AP tests.

I don't really know what else though. I can finish a Rubik's cube, if that counts, I used to play the guitar, and I'm starting a band soon.

136 views and no comments! really?

I don’t think this is a question we can really answer for you. In general extracurriculars tend to be more organized than what you have listed. However I see no reason not to report those activities. The originality could be refreshing. It’s definitely not going to hurt you to list them. Although I don’t know if I would mention the Rubik’s cube.

You didn’t mention what grade you are in, but if you are not a senior, I would recommend getting involved in some sort of organized activity, and keep up with the other things as well. The only problem with some of your current activities is that there’s really no way to confirm that you are actually doing them. Having a resume full of activities that really can’t be verified might look a little odd.

These are just my initial thoughts; by the number of views and responses I think it’s pretty evident that nobody really has the perfect answer.
