<p>The number of ECs isn’t as important as excelling in them. For instance, my friend was an avid debater. He took part in about 20-25 debate tournaments, including the WSDCs (made it to top 40, which is a big deal). He was admitted to Princeton SCEA and Harvard RD (only Yale said waitlist).</p>
