anyone???????

Very nice with the Arabic Magazine! I like that - that may even make you stand out. Btw, are you Arab/Muslim?

Yes...........Both

yes, they are fine for any school. Put effort into the $10 essay.

btw; Hopkins doesn't do business....

schools like students who compete in competitions and that was the only available thing that I could compete in at my school....btw hopkins isnt all about science and people dont declare their majors at JHU until sophmore year. So they cant judge my EC's on what I'm majoring in.

What everyone is saying is that JHU is more heavy in science. I think you should exploit your being in the Arabic Magazine. It's something special in comparison to your other awards that most have (community service, etc).

how would I exploit that in my app?

P.S.- Please evaluate my EC's as if I'm an undeclared major...

I disagree that JHU is heavy on science...their International Relations program is No. 1 in the country so are many other non-science programs.

You're picking various departments. JHU is KNOWN for being heavy in the pre-med areas.

Trust me.

ok...fine

can anyone else evaluate my ECs?

bummp.....

LOL
try to narrow your ec's down to 3-5 things
be more passionate about these few things in which you really liked doing
write about the ones you loved rather than making a laundry list

oh so I have to throw all of my hard work away? I dont think so...i put in a lot of hours each week for every one of the things listed. I have really good time management skills and that's why I have a lot of meaningful activities. Also, I am passionate about 100% of things I do...I dont just do them for college purposes, I do them because it makes me feel good to help others.

He does only have like 5 things... just many awards from one EC. And I agree, the Arabic magazine is definitely unique and it would be a very nice touch to your application.

"Also, I am passionate about 100% of things I do...I dont just do them for college purposes, I do them because it makes me feel good to help others."

Then why do you ask the question, "Are these EC's good for JHU?"
I was trying to say that you were looking at the admissions process in the wrong light. When I was a junior as well I made chances threads and panicked about the college process and if I had enough EC's or AP's etc. You should present yourself with your own interests and passions rather than creating images that aren't really you but what you think colleges want. If you truly are doing what you love than I both applaud and envy you. I regret so much that I did not learn this earlier as I head into applications this fall. See you at JHU 2008 (if I get in :/).

edit: grammar mistakes

sorry...let me rephrase the question...

Will my passions impress the JHU adcom?
