Yes 10char

Thanks. . . but I am worried that I don’t have enough international awards and stuff; we don’t have access to things like IMO and Intel, here in Egypt. . . Do you think they’ll take this into consideration.

so, what do you guys think, below average, average, above average

I think you should simmer down son. ECs make up a fair portion of the admissions process, but in no way will adding more awards or activities make you look godlike unless those activities are, well, godlike. Chill out, your ECs are fine, probably better than a good chunk of applicants’ ECs. Worry about your transcript (GPA, Class Rank, SATs, SAT IIs, Rigor of Courses), your essays, and your recs. Those are probably more important than having a laundry list of awards and activities.

Ya I know. GPA, class rank, sat II are all objective. EC, essays are objective, and we aren’t allowed to post essays, so I post my ec’s. I don’t like the idea of ‘chance,’ I want to see how my ec’s compare to students in the us, not in the sense of their quanitity, but in the sense of their quality. I never mentioned anything to do with god-like. It’s just that it seem that there is no way of getting into MIT without international or national awards in science and math.

Bump(10char)

Any tips or advice?

bump10char

Like sb else said, chill out. And it is possible to make it into MIT w/out international stuff, though not likely if you apply as an international. Just relax, own the essays and then you’ll have no regrets when applying.

bumpty bump bump.

they’re ok

Well, we’ll see after tommorrow, god help me, lol. We always seem to resort to god at times of stress.

Sry, it seems you are a senior. If so, then ignore what I said and good luck (we’ll both need it, so I empathize with your situation :D)

Good luck too!. . . I’m going to be wearing my lucky underwear, lol! Are you an International too?

No (lucky me). I’m wearing my lucky pyjamas :D
