I have been working on my freshman transfer application, and I was hoping to hear some feedback on the extracurricular activities that I listed. Perhaps my main concern is that some are too closely related to be listed individually. (I realize that there is a separate transfer thread, but I feel as though this is not a matter specific to transfers.)
- Pianist/altar server, Sunday Mass
- Multi-instrumentalist, has provided accompaniment for weddings/funerals
- Pianist/xylophonist, high school jazz band
- Actively researches music theory via YouTube
- Recorded electronic remix of John Coltrane's "My Favorite Things"
- Video editor, various uploads to YouTube, helped friend edit drum cover video
- Private Japanese lessons with my father
- Dietary aide, nursing home (work)
- United Nations New York field program
- National Honor Society, involvement includes food drives, Thanksgiving meal preparations, blood drives
Are the music-related activities too similar to each other, that they don’t deserve their own spots? Also, I was involved with co-curricular clubs during high school (cross-country, theater), but I feel as though I never found any passion/showed any leadership with those.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
