Are these schools Reaches for me?

I’m a senior with a 3.8686 GPA (weighted) and a New SAT score of 1400. Please let me know my chances of admission based purely on these two stats at the colleges below
Major in Finance

Penn State University - Smeal
Boston College
Boston University
Lehigh University
Notre Dame
Villanova
Cornell
UNC - Chapel Hill

Penn State University- probably a low match/safety
Boston College- you’re at the top end of the 50% range for SAT, so probably a match
Boston University- top end of 50% range for SAT again, solid GPA, so probably a match
Lehigh University- almost at 75th percentile for SAT, probably solid match
Notre Dame- probably a match, low reach
Villanova- match/reach
Cornell- very high reach
UNC Chapel Hill- reach

But this is just based on SAT and GPA, almost all of these schools take into account other factors like essays, ECs and LORs.

Notre Dame is a reach. Villanova is a match.

Are you a PA resident? Penn State gives very little financial aid to OOS applicants.

Yes I’m a Pennsylvania Resident… Should I apply to any safeties or do u think I’ll get into one of these

@TomSrOfBoston @yonceonhismouth

I think you’ll probably get into Penn State for sure, based on your stats.

“Probably” and “for sure” are contradictions.

Penn State would be very low match but you may want to apply tp a PASSHE school just in case. Even as a PA resident Penn State may be very pricey after aid. What can your family afford to pay?

It is hard to tell with the differences in gpas between high schools. At my school, someone with your gpa would never get into Notre Dame, BC, Cornell, Villanova, and UNC CH. What does your Naviance show for the kids from your school? A 1400 at Notre Dame, Cornell and out of state UNC seems low. What is the highest your gpa can go to? Our valedictorian graduated last year with a 4.4. So, a weighted 3.8 would be low. What is your unweighted gpa?

You would be a match for Lehigh and BU at my school. I am not in PA so I really cannot answer about Penn State.

Smeal accepts a very low percentage of students for first years. If you want Penn State to be a true safety, apply as a non-smeal applicant then transfer in. It will be a match if you apply smeal.

I just heard than UNC Chapel Hill in very, very hard for out of state students to get into, so that may be a reach. Notre Dame, as well.

Chapel Hill freshman class consists of 82% in state and 18% out of state. This makes it very, very difficult to get in to UNC out of state, and the average SAT and ACT scores are deceiving. Notre Dame is extremely competitive, as the average New SAT is a 1480. I would peg UNC and Notre Dame as reaches.
