I know scores are not the deciding factor for admission to Harvard, but will these make the cut?

nope, you'll need minimum 1600

ur scores are fine

You think a 1600 is good enough? I think you're underestimating the competition!

the scores put you in a solid position for that portion of your app. that said, the rest of the app is going to be what makes you get accepted or rejected. there are plenty of people with test scores in the range for schools like harvard that end up getting rejected because of weaknesses in essays, recs, EC's, GPA, etc.

Are you really concerned about your scores??? If you actually are, there's something missing in your counseling/school research. Have you seen the score ranges on collegeboard/princeton review? If you have, you should know you're well within them. Still, one kid would get in with a 1300 and another would get rejected with a 1600. That's the ivy league.

Are your scores fine? Are you kidding if you are solid to upper 700's you are fine. The schoold cares more about what you can do with EC's, classes than perfect scores. They actually like to reject perfect scores and give statistics about how many they rejected.

They actually like to reject perfect scores and give statistics about how many they rejected.

This is VERY misleading. Although they DO publish statistics on how many 1600s they reject, they still accept roughly 40% of 1600s....with a RD acceptance rate of ~5% this year, 1600s get no sympathy from me.

If you check the roster of the kids who applied EA (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=16882) you'll see that excellent scores don't make anyone an automatic admit. I think there was a guy on there who counted on his perfect ACT score to get him in, and it didn't work out. With that said, scores are still important, and yours are okay. It depends on the rest of your application to get you through the door, though.

The scores are good, not "okay." So, yes they are good enough in that they don't disqualify you. But they don't get you in, because no scores do.

yea what Jono said. Scores like that put you in the running but now you just need the rest of the app to get you in. recs, essays, grades, hooks ect...

I think your scores are fine. But I question the college-readiness of anyone who takes random answers to threads on CC too seriously, so I hope you take these answers with a bushel basket full of salt.

Good luck in your application.

you know that your scores are good. lets be real. what are your true motives?
