I was browsing through Barrons SAT II prep books, and I began to wonder if there were more recent editions of these books that I was somehow missing. It seems that other test prep companies put out a new book each year, so a book published at the beginning of 2000 seems rather outdated.

Biology: 13th edition (Published July 12, 2002)
Literature: 2nd edition (Published January 1, 2000)
IIC: 7th edition (Published April, 2003)

there is a barrons 8th edition but its basically the same thing

Thank you so much for the response, pimpa! Ill check out the eighth edition and see if its any cheaper/more expensive. I just wanted to make sure that the editions I will be getting werent outdated.

Biology only goes up to 13th.

I hate how Barron's releases new books so rarely. It doesn't help their business, in my opinion. Unless if they're trying to make each one worth more. After all, five year old PR books aren't even given a second glance anymore. Only Barron's can maintain that kind of credibility. I guess it's kind of honorable.

Thanks, theoneo. Does anyone know about literature? Is the second edition current?

Yeah, that's the most recent one. Ew, my sister used that like four years ago when it was new. But don't do literature. It's mad hard. Unless it's your forte.

Nice username by the way.

I think I have a good chance of doing well at lit, (800 CR and a love of poetry) but thanks for the advice. I am really scared about this whole SAT II thing. My school doesnt have APs in any SAT II subjects, and even if they did, we arent allowed to take (either of the 2) APs until senior year, so I guess it wouldnt matter anyway. Last year in Chemistry we spent the last several weeks of the class coloring bubbles to represent various elements to help us understand how balancing equations works. World history is never taught at my school, and weve never had a US history class get beyond the World Wars (Every year we start over at the Revolutionary War and cover the same material we have in previous years.) I guess this means history tests are out of the question. I have been attempting to decide whether to try my luck at the ridiculously-curved Math IC or to try to teach myself enough advanced math for the IIC. Also, I will have to self-study bio as well, as I havent had a biology class since freshman year. I guess I have a busy summer ahead of me. sigh-

Oh, jeeze! Whenever I get to talking about my schools inadequacies it turns into a rant. Sorry, everyone.
Thanks for the compliment, theoneo. Its not only ogres who are like onions. (Major brownie points to those who recognize this quote from a truly great movie.)
