<p>Evening, I just finished off all of my RD apps, and I'm wondering about my chances.</p>

<p>For information's sake, I'm going into either physics, EE, or ChemE
MIT
Caltech
Drexel (sp?)
CMU
FSU (safety)
UIUC
UC berkley
Stanford
HMC</p>

<p>(yeah, I know, a lot of apps) (I wanted to insert a smiley at the end of that parenthetical, but I couldn't figure out how. DAMN YOU INTERNET)</p>

<p>Stats:
GPA: 4.3 W, 3.7 UW
class rank: Not reported, definately in top 10% of 500 or so seniors
SAT1 (superscore) : 800m 800cr 730w
SAT1 (best sitting) : 800m 740 cr 730w
SAT2: 790 MathII 750 physics 720 chem
ECs: Not that impressive, academic challenge team for 4 years, placed third in state one year and first in another. USACO since junior year, never did all that well in it, Mu Alpha Theta since junior year.
recs: Both excellent, physics teacher is an MIT grad
APs: AP world: 4, AP microeconomics: 5, AP psych: 4, AP language/comp: 4, AP calc AB: 5, AP physics b: 4, AP american history: 5, AP lit: 3
currently taking: AP comp sci, AP calc BC, AP physics C, AP government, AP stats</p>

<p>So, what do you think my chances are?</p>

<p>Also keep in mind that I'm hispanic and from a middle class family, where we won't qualify for need based aid, but we still can't afford college because we live in the county with a cost of living that's top 5 in the nation, so I threw out a lot of apps hoping for financial aid from somewhere, if worse comes to worse I've got a full scholarship to any state uni (Florida).</p>

<p>Gah, I forgot to add under ECs</p>

<p>I spent the summer of my sophomore year at the Florida Young Scholars program at FSU (essentially a 6 week math and science camp.) And I spent last summer at Caltech’s YESS program.</p>
