I plan on taking 4 AP's in junior year and 5 in senior. Everyone says its too much, but i want to get into Cornell. Should i tone down the schedule or just leave it and work my butt off?

If you think it’s too hard, tone it down

Well, i’m taking 2 AP’s this year so i’ll see how they go then make my decision i guess

Take as much as you handle.
You’re lucky; I’m only taking one AP out of the two AP’s offered senior year. LOL.

At my school, there are seven periods/classes throughout the day, and during my junior year five of those were AP/honors classes. I got five A’s and two B’s. My senior year I took six AP/honors classes and got six A’s and one B.

So, I guess from my standpoint, taking that many AP classes is doable. However, I guess it also depends on how hard the class is (for example, two of my AP’s junior year were AP US History and AP Art History, and I always do well in history), and the quality/rigor of the teacher. If you have generally been a good student in the past, then I would say that taking that many AP’s should not necessarily be a problem for you.

IMO, unless you have a crapload of EC’s and after-school things, if you want to get into Cornell, you’re not taking enough APs.

And what classes exactly are you taking?

For example, taking AP Human isn’t as impressive as AP Chemistry or Bio.

Well i should have a total of 11 at the end being,
AP stats
AP US
AP physics
AP Psych
AP euro
AP lit
AP Calc
AP govt.& politics
AP spanish
AP chem
AP english comp
Also 11 is the most you can possibly take at my school

I think you’ll be fine. I took 1 AP Soph year, 4 Junior, and 5/6 (because gov/econ was one class at my school) senior year, all A’s. It was stressful, but you end up feeling really satisfied with yourself if you can pull yourself through it.

That’s not true at all. OP’s number of APs is completely reasonable for getting into Cornell.
