Are they stopping transfers from applying next year?

I had someone tell me last night that they are stopping transfers from applying to the UC's and CSU's next year. This sounds rediculous, have you heard anything about it?

Yea man I heard that anyone who tries to transfer is going to get smashed in the legs with baseball bats by the Governator’s cronies.

As of right now, none of the CSU campuses are accepting spring applications. They sent out a press release about a week ago. They said that there may be some exceptions, but still haven’t specified what those exceptions will be. No word from the UCs yet. Only 4 campuses are open for winter.

That doesn’t sound right. I know the CSU campuses aren’t accepting applications for spring, but I doubt the CSU’s or UC’s will stop accepting transfers in the fall.

^^ Yeah, no one has mentioned anything about fall. I would think that something really catastrophic would have to happen for them to not accept fall applicants. Who knows though. I wouldn’t put anything past the state of CA at this point. LOL!

LOL! Well, I don’t think they’ll stop taking transfer applicants. Besides, if they don’t get transfer applicants and rely solely on freshmen applicants, how are the schools going to make any income without tuition!?

Hiroshi66, that’s not true. they don’t hardly rely on student’s tuition. Most of their income come from government. beside, if they accept more students, they need to employ more professors and pay more. Also they don’t only get tuition from freshmen, but also the continued students inside schools.

No, but it will most likely be harder to get in.

what if they did? if they did, they wouldn’t like inform us right before we apply, they would do it like years before

If they had a plan that would dramatically impact a large number of students, they would propose years before implementing it.

Exactly. We would know about it by now.

You’d think transfer students would save the UC/CSU system money in the long run…
