My twin sister and I want to go to Northwestern. After viewing the NU supplement, one of the questions is: "Is a sibling applying to Northwestern too?" and, "If yes, are you twins?"

Is it seen as diverse/interesting to admit twins? My sister probably doesn't have as good stats as I do though, so could this hurt me at all? We're white, by the way.

Admitting twins does not add to diversity at all.

The school may just be asking because they’ve had instances where they’ve admitted twins because it’s easier on the family if both are at the same school. However, I don’t think the lower stats twin will get admitted if the “lower stats” aren’t NU quality.

But will they like feel bad if they admit me and not her, so they’d rather just rejects both of us altogether?

For what it’s worth, Northwestern has conducted and published a series of “Twin” studies…

Haha, what does that mean!? Twin studies? You mean like their medical school has for research purposes?

LOL…

Are you two identical twins? If so, do they want to do research on you?

Yale admitted quadruplets.

But I’m not sure if it’s “more appealing.” to me (but I’m not an adcom) it wouldn’t make a difference if the students are twins or one year apart.

No, fraternal, actually!
