Are two science classes with labs too much for a freshman?

I'm taking 5 classes for my first semester. I'm a Nursing major and two of these classes are Biochemistry and Anatomy & Physiology. Both have labs. Everyone keeps telling me that's too much for a freshman. What do you guys think? I'd prefer answers from someone who's been in a similar situation (so not another freshman). Also, any tips on balancing the workload?

I have two as well…chemistry with lab and physics with lab. I’m a freshman so I can’t give you tips, but many people have encouraged me both ways, and many people have done it before and after us…we’ll survive. I’ve got a pretty full load too-17 hrs.

Pretty much all science majors at my school take biology w/ lab and chemistry w/ lab first semester freshman year…I think it’s pretty common if you’re a science major and need to complete requirements/prerequisites.

In response to OP’s question: no.

2 labs a week isnt that bad, Winter quarter I had 2 (1 lab but met twice a week for 3 hours) Chem labs, 1 Physics Lab, and 1 Engineering Lab and it was hell.
