are UCI and UCSC the only school that offer computer game science?

In california that is and not counting USC since it a private school.

Yes.
And one more thing, this is from someone who is on this board for a long time, maybe ucbalumnus or sth, he said that game companies do accept applicants with a CS degree, so having these means you have a better chance of finding a job, instead of limiting yourself into CSGD. I’ve been thinking abt it (I love CSGD too  ) and yeah, it seems plausible ;)

yah i’m considering CS or CGS doesn’t really matter to me since the classes are almost similiar. I did like introduction tour i got last year when i went to open house for CGS @ UCI and the weekly competition they have with the students. =( I do wish that the CGS degree would work with other places too since they cover the same material as CS.

Just do regular CS, but add CS electives in graphics, user interfaces, and artificial intelligence, and non-CS electives in art, literature, animation and the like.

Better to be ready for any CS job (with a regular CS degree) including game jobs, rather than be limited to game jobs which are only a small subset of CS jobs.
