So I have the BEST U.S history teacher ever. he knows everything and has a story behind every topic. Unfortunately, this also means that we're going like a chapter every 3 weeks or so. yikes... right now, we are JUST beginning the reconstruction. YES, the CIVIL WAR. i know for certain that we're behind, but by how much? Where are you guys at? Should I begin looking ahead in prep books etc? I'm kinda of nervous for the exam now.

We're at the turn of the century. If you guys keep moving at that pace, then yeah, go ahead by yourself, but you can still finish in time if you speed up to about a chapter and a half per week.

We didn't even get through Watergate before the AP.

*Get ahead in your textbook. Teach yourself. Or just study the periods you're less familiar with. I was familiar with the Watergate era so I read up on the '80s. That approach works, too.

be happy my class just got to the War of 1812, and yes the class started in September

okay. thanks guys.

rwc: oh whoa... do you guys go in great detail or what?

we just cracked open the 20th Century

We're at World War I. Your APUSH teacher sounds like mine though: has a good story for every topic =)

We are at imperialism. Although we already covered the progressive era and Wilson administration. Doing reconstruction right now seems a bit slow..

We'll be getting to the Civil Rights movement in a week, I believe.
My teacher is absolutely amazing. I started a Facebook group dedicated to her. And I think I might want to be an APUSH teacher now...
But anyways. Our course is two years. So we'll have about 6 weeks just to prepare for the test :)

No i wish we did, because i feel like i'd get something out of it we're just INCREDABLY slow. You know its bad when the Honors US 1 class ( the course we take as sophomores, last year) is farther ahead than us...... its quite sad...

that's my case too^

we are right at the turn of the century and we have a test every week and half or more

we just finished reconstruction...we're on the Gilded age. You're not that far behind.

whoa whoa don't worry too much about 1960's and after, we basically got a fact sheet the day BEFORE the ap exam from the 60's onwards :P

i think you'll be fine tick tock

we use pageant; we are in the WW1 chapter (30-31).

But our teacher skipped all the social cultural chapters (14, 15, 25). That's kinda bad, dont you think?

^ yeah... isn't the ap exam pretty big on social stuff?? at least, it was in Euro last year.

our teacher told us that they usually ask a few questions about the second great awakening and all the reformers so yeah, skipping the social stuff is bad. you might want to go back and look at those.

We use A People and A Nation and we're in the middle of the Gilded Age.

my class just finished populism and started imperialism

Nope: not that much social history was on last year's exam. mostly recalling major events and why they happened
