Read the title.

Nope.

BUT they are kind of fun. There are a bunch to choose from and most of them are 1/2 credit classes.

And they're pass/fail, so it's not as if you have to study for them or take them EXTREMELY seriously.

sweet. I think I'll try and do weight lifting.

heh, I was in that class for a day. I ended up dropping it not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't make it to class the first day. I completely slept through my first class of the day, and then woke up at 10, forgetting that the class started at 10:05 on west instead of 10:20. Oh well. I have heard that it's a pretty decent class, though.

The flip side of the OP question is - you can certainly take one every semester. They're great ways to make time for yourself to go lift, or dance, or fish, or bowl, or whatever. I still need to get a picture when the fly fishing class is practicing casting in front of the Chapel. Figure it would be a good postcard...

do they allow sitting in on the classes for non-credit? like if you want to take a class but don't have room in your schedule for it?

It depends on the class and the professor.

This isn't really part of the physed department, per say, but I had a girl in my ballet class who did that last semester. She had a pretty packed schedule so she got permission from the instructor and just came when she could. Also, sometimes I'd just go to other ballet classes when I wanted to. It's definitely a possibility...you just have to get it cleared.

Do the gyms have like classes/programs available for the students (aerobics, yoga, kickboxing, step, etc) that are for leisure/personal use, not courses?

Yep, there is a schedule in the gyms with group fitness classes. Most of the good ones are at night and stuff, but they offer some during the day.

They def. have yoga, kick, step, high impact, low impact, and I knew a girl who taught a pilates class, so there's tons of stuff to choose from.

Okay. That's great, great, great! Now I can kind of force myself to exercise. A class would make me much more motivated than just waking up early before classes and going jogging.

Yeah, I mean, there are tons of ways to workout. If I had a 2 hour break between classes I'd go running then. Or you can always find a friend/drag your roommate to Wilson with you to workout. There are so many things to do.

Thanks guys.
