Are Whartonites trapped?

you can't cure homosexuality.

according to religion, you can. :P.

"you get a minor in judaic studies just by coming to penn, see what you have to do to make it a major"

Jewish guys are hot

^wish I could say the same about Jewish girls.

JCov, have you seen the new ninja turtles movie?

ironically, my parents are saying the same thing: single wharton degree will trap you forever...

that's why they are encouraging/coercing me to dual degree in engineering w/ wharton so i'm not a failure in their eyes! sigh...at ;east i like biology and BE.

ipoder I bet you're asian

JC, u got it rite!

both of my parents are hardcore engineers who are successful in business w/o any business degrees...they see the value of a business degree as something you can pick up in a bookstore, read, and then apply....w/o any difficulty...

jcoveney

i bet your mom is a hot hispanic woman

meng, I bet your parents were disappointed that you were doing business and IR instead of engineering until they found out that Huntsman has less than a 1% acceptance rate.

Uh Huntsman doesnt have less than a 1% acceptance rate. What is it ~40 ppl annually? That'd mean 4000 applied to Wharton and ALL OF THEM met the prerequisites to even apply to Wharton (or would even want to). I think the stat on penn's website is that there's 500 applicants for Huntsman annually with a 35-45 acceptance. 5-10% acceptance. Still very low and prestigious. But <1%? no.

You Columbia people need to chill.

JC or any other M&T or dual degree students,

just out of curiosity, how hard is it to get a double degree in engineering and wharton? how many classes do one have to take per semester and how many hours of work comitted to that?

just to have some stress-preparation before thinking of dual degree

Well damn, I was going to apply to transfer to Penn(Wharton I would hope), but after reading this thread, I am turned off. Thanks :</p>

On second thought....ya I'm going to apply anyway... :D

This is indeed a silly thread. You guys need to remember that just because you go to Wharton, it doesn't mean you are pigeon-holed into business of any kind either immediately after graduation or any time down the road.

The degree is extremely flexible as it stands alone, and you can add to it practically anything you want while you are at Penn.

Do a lot of people go into banking and consulting? Yes. Most grads don't stay there, however. Many see it as a 2-year "residency" program of sorts. But when you can go from $0 income to $60+ a sign on bonus + a big year-end bonus, it's hard for a 22-year old to say "no thanks." And yes, many bankers will make over $100K straight out of college as long as bonuses continue to be so high .

Does that mean that you have to be a banker or a consultant? NO. Go do whatever you are interested in!

Depressing

The Fuje has spoken

I'm in love

HAHAHA
