Are YOU a "Helicopter Parent?"

I have been hearing more and more about helicopter parents lately, and I wanted to share with you an interesting blog post that I found. It categorized the different levels of "hovering" parents and is definitely an informative (and funny) read.

I cannot believe that parents are hacking into their children's facebook accounts! Where do you fit in?

Abroad101: Welcome Abroad: From Hovering Mentors to Intrusive Rescue Squads: A Spectrum of Helicopter Parents

(also posted this in the parents forum but thought I would extend it to the entire community)

I'll tell you one thing, parents can NOT search your post history on any message board. That's simply too advanced for them.

^ hehe, that's really true. my dad caught me posting here and he went on about how i'll die if i post on the internet. then the next day he tried to disconnect the internet, but of course i thwarted that measure. he's just ridiculous..my mom's a little bit more normal.
overall:
my parents are a mix of toxic and blackhawk..

This isn't entirely accurate, I would say...

Yes it is. It's a mix of computer illiteracy and willful ignorance caused by being scared of what they might find.

Traffic and Rescue, if that much. Pretty good balance I'd say.

Searching through post history is easy. Click on the name, find more posts. Either your parents are exceptionally computer illiterate, or they just pretend to be.

Although I do agree with the "afraid of what they might find".

Football, I have personal experience to the contrary.

has anyone noticed that helicopter parent ALWAYS get peeved off when they find a story in the news about the importance of not spying on kids or if their kid's teacher complains?

"There are just some people who don't understand the importance of constant supervision. It encourages them to do well in school. On the other hand, ...blah blah blah........"
