Are you a teacher's pet?

Do you consider yourself a teacher's pet? Why? In my situation, I'm not really a teacher's pet since the person is not even a teacher (only teaches one class in for one block) but a faculty member. We are so similar in everything, tastes in music, styles- both very organized and such. We just connect and plus the person isn't that old. In fact, the person is really young. The person doesnt show it around others but around me, the person tends to open up. Other people around me consider me that person's pet. I guess I'm the only one who won't admit.

And this is coming from a person who used to hate teacher's pet. Now I've become one.

I'm not really a teacher's pet, but my teachers do always like me the best in the class, because i give the best essays and i'm the most intelligent in the class (arrogant, but true). But it's not like I 'brown nose' or anything, they just seem to like me the best. :/

I accidentally became one last year to my Bio teacher, I think. But he was so nice I coundn't really help it. It was like I would notice myself doing work for him first because I didn't want to disappoint him. Ah well, at least he should be good for recs.

I don't think I'm a teacher's pet.

Because my school has Smaller Learning Communities, we all know our teachers really well. So it seems like we're all a teacher's pet, but we're not.

I do give them gifts for Christmas and such (I bake for the rest of my friends, so I just make an extra batch and give it to them), but just because teaching is such a thankless job.

I'm definitely not what you'd call a teacher's pet, heh. There are other ways to stand out academically than get an A+ in every class...

I'm not a teacher's pet, but teachers just seem to like me (that sounds extremely obnoxious, and I apologize). I don't answer every question, I don't write essays when I'm just supposed to write a one sentence answer, I don't visit my teachers every day after school, and I don't give them gifts (although I'll probably bake the teachers who are writing my recs cookies). I just do my work and get good grades.

I think "pet" is relative. Like, I'm actually friendly with my Spanish teacher from last year, and I'm definitely going to visit her a lot, so some people would call me "teacher's pet." And it's true that I did verrrry well in her class, but that's because it was seriously a joke. And she did point to me as an example of someone who actually has Spanish skilllz, but because she wanted people to come to me for help when they needed it (and oh, did they need it). But yeah. I didn't butter her up to get good grades or any other reason, I just got along with her well and always got to class early because I had lunch right before. :)

The moral of this story is: buttering up your teachers is lame, no matter what. Being friendly with them is cool, even if it's not normal. Petty classmates will not know the difference. Luckily, they don't matter, so you're good. :D

^That's a really good point.

Like I said, I'm pretty good friends with most or all of my teachers. I've even babysat for one of them. :)

Most people think I'm a teacher's pet but I don't think so.. I always answer questions and do my work etc, and so teacher's tend to like me but..

Last year in World History I was more of one, but I still don't think I was.. We would have subs a lot and most of the kids were always mean to her (we had one a lot) and I would be nice to her and tell her that her ideas weren't stupid, the Freshman guys were just jerks.. Then she told my teacher and my teacher bragged on me about it.. I don't consider that being a suck up, I just felt bad for her because of the idiots in my class...

Hahaha. In some classes I am. I don't even TRY to be one though...

In some classes I am, because I'm usually the first to volunteer to answer questions that no one else does.

No, most just end up liking me. But this year, senior teachers appear to be much more aloof to everyone.

See with me, I don't try to be one...like the rest of you guys...she just happens to like me...

I have those smaller learning communities too which are stupid and this is our first year. I try to make my teachers not like me but yet I can still do very well whichsurprises them because all I do is sleep or just sit there.

I usually get made a pet in English classes. Unwillingly, mind. I've made some frenemies that way.

In my CP classes, I usually suck up a teeny tiny bit, just enough so that I can get away with eating in class.

No need, my teachers naturally think I'm awesome :D.

bump.bump.

I don't suck up to them, but they always take a liking to me :)

Yeah, that's kind of my situation, too. Supposedly if said person told me to jump off a bridge, I would do it. I don't know, we've just connected a lot this year, we get along really well and she really "gets" me. She just happens to like me, I just happen to like her, and we just happen to spend a lot of time together - doing duty on our residence hall once a week, at the barn, and sometimes I just like to hang out in her office during my free periods. It's nice to always have a person I can go to if I need something.

yea..but i dont try to. it just happens,. im the intelligent class clown. so i guess i somehow appeal to everyone. i try working the hardest getting really good grades, but i also particpiate, help out, lighten the mood. etc. so yeam ive never ever hada problem with a teacher thank god. because etacher rec were easy bc of that. :)
