Okay so Im collecting data for my stats project Im posting this in three sub-forums to get a stratified sample... here, the transfers forum, and the café. Please answer the question somewhere in your post. Ill do the counting so dont worry about that. I will post the results by the end of the week in case anyone is interested.

If you dont know if youre afraid of spiders, google image for some pics. Id post some links here, but I hit the X immediately when I see anything that resembles spiders or snakes, for that matter. >_>

Nope, most of the ones I see around me are the tiny little ones. Now if it was a black widow I would change my vote, of course that is going to scare most people besides the crocodile hunter.

i'm not scared of the small ones but daddy long legs are the scariest thing in the world. esp since when you kill them they twitch for 5 more minutes.

I guess I'll have to say I'm not afraid of them... while I might be if they start crawling on me, I can deal with being in the same room (except really big ones which we don't have anywhere around here...) , and looking at pictures of them.

i'm not scared of spiders but i think they're absolutely disgusting. It's gross seeing the long thin legs move about and the thought that spiders have more than 2 eyes!!

The thing that I am most scared of in the world are those medium sized spiders. Mostly because I was downstairs you night watching TV at 1 am and a bug was walking across the tv. I was not at first sure if it was on the tv so because I was stupid went up to the television and poked it, thinking that it was on the tv. To my surprise the spider jumps into the air and lands on me. Because the room was totally dark except for the light of the tv I could not see where it was on me, and thus had a nervous breakdown, because this was no small spider. So to answer your original question, Yes.

Unless the population your specifically trying to study is people who post on CC, you are going to get a strongly biased inaccurate result that any competent teacher will rip apart.
That said, I am more horrified of spiders than I am of death, bears, George Bush, and the apocalypse(i.e. not getting into cornell)

^he has a good point. At least mention it's a convenience sample so the data cannot be taken for granted...
not scared of spiders, but I'm scared of mice and rats

Not really. I just get a tissue and kill it when i see it. I might freak out if i was sleeping and it was on me or something lol. But I would just kill it.
