Are you allowed to put team awards on college apps?

I am programming lead in robotics, and my team of 11 won many awards.

The one that is most relevant to me is a programming award that basically says that your code is really great.

Are you allowed to put team awards like these on college apps? Do they even hold any weight, and does the weight increase if you are a leader of the group?

Obviously you can, since being a significant player on a sports team that wins a championship would be a typical team award that someone may put on a college application.

Yea. But awards matter less. What you accomplished to get the award matters most. It’s about what you do more so than who acknowledged you.

Most major accomplishments in the world are done by groups of people working together. The Internet was created by many people working together. The various COVID vaccines were each created by multiple people working together.

If you are on a team that won awards, I would mention it. I would be clear that it was a team victory, and not an individual one.

Pretty sure they do. If you’re adding it in the activities section mention all the duties you personally had to fulfil and mention you were the Leader in the position section

Definitely put the team awards in your application. If possible, mention your role in the team. It can as simple as putting down the team award then a comma and your position within the team.

Working as part of a successful team is a very important skill and colleges would want to know that.
