I applied and was rejected by the film school (interactive media) this past spring. Mainly because my creative supplement was rushed and weak (at least I think so).

I put film production down as a second option major, and didn't put anything in the normal A&S school.

Was I considered for the A&S school after being rejected from Film, or did they just reject me from film and then were done with it?

Yes, they consider everyone for admission to the college (CLAS) and then for admission to the individual school. Its very possible to be admitted to CLAS but not for your intended major/school that you listed.

Sorry to read your results, pandem. Just for others who may be applying to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) this year–if you put down a second major in SCA, you will need to prepare a second creative supplement fufilling the requirements of that SCA major. I hope OP submitted both to be considered.

But as War Chant said, all apps are considered for CLAS too, and many have been accepted as “Undeclared” into CLAS while getting a “pass” (that’s the Hollywood euphemism) from SCA.
