My son finally received his acceptance packet in the mail yesterday. (We're in Texas.)

Question:::

have they started to accept people who are NOT in consideration for scholarship yet?

I just talked to admissions. They told me that everyone who is in consideration for presidential & trustee has already been contacted. Everyone else hears beginning in March. I'm a little bummed (vast vast understatement) -- it seems like NO ONE who applied to annenberg on CC got their acceptance...

No kidding? :(

That sucks.

I got a USC Viewbook today. I already have one >>. Not exactly the kind of mail I was hoping for sigh. Well that means no USC for me. What a bummer.

annn i find it weird how our stats and app are comparable to those who received the scholarship, yet we didnt get anything.

It seems like the admissions officers need to talk to eachother. One says that all scholarship acceptees will be notified by the end of the week, but another says that they will be notified by the end of the month.

hmm... does anyone know about NMF presidential scholarships? cause don't all NMF get one? I'm hoping to be a NMF....

Not ALL NMF get one, I have heard from an admissions officer that they have turned down NMF in the past. So I am actually curious too.

OMG! that's horrible!!! I was counting on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aghhhh!!!!

so does anyone know
a. when we find out if we're NMF
and
b. when/if NMF get the scholarships?

I think you all should drop out and run away to start a rock band. Lets start having lives now, come on.

If they actually get ADMITTED then they get the scholarship. This is for cases where the student has a 2.5 but is still NMF. So there's not much to worry about.

Is there a possibility that I'm already rejected?

Yes...a very real possibility

u mean not just from scholarship.. from USC in general, right?

I was always under the impression that USC selects the scholarship applicants first, send those out first, then look at the rest of the applicants as a whole.

If I am rejected, i won't hear back from USC until April?

did you apply for the december deadline stressedout?

I feel like I have much better academic stats than most of my friends, some of whom are being considered for scholarships. This depresses me to no end :(

Location: Northern California (Bay Area)

rjnarayen, same here, very similar stats and such but no word...

I am having a difficult time believing that all the scholarship letters are out.
Theatre auditions for BFAs are scheduled until February 18th; that means the applications for those students aren’t complete until they audition.

I can't believe that none of the applicants in the School of Theatre are going to be invited to interview for scholarships. That doesn't seem right!

Yes, I did, pmcharkins
