I'm still debating whether or not to room with a friend or random. What are you guys doing or what did you do freshman year?

I’m gonna roomed with a random. Meeting new people is my goals so why not start with a person that could be living with u all year.

Here, the idea of having to share a room past the age of 15 at boarding school is considered ridiculous, I can’t believe adults actually have to. Unfortunately I will probably end up doing so in a few years time, but still…

I won’t room with a friend (my ex-best friend is the only person I know planning to attend the school and we will not room well together) but I’m a bit wary of random roommate even though it’s what I’d want…

A random because I am going to a college none of my friends are going to.

I did random roommate, it’s working out well right now.

^ omqqqqq look who’s back

fwiw, at Brown they only do random, and it worked out fine for me. If you don’t think you’ll have any issues living with your friend (be aware that cleanliness and noise, esp. at night, are issues in living with someone that don’t play a role in normal interactions), that will probably be fine too.

I think Descuff makes a good point above as well.

The biggest problems are I think “is ur roommate dirty?” and “is he/she a light sleeper?”
