<p>yup nothing bad has happened between us.</p>
<p>My school doesn't rank, and I don't think val and sal are even determined by GPA at all, but more through a sort of democratic convention of the teachers.</p>
<p>That being said, one of my friends is probably the one with the highest GPA around, as I can't quite think of anyone else who might have taken a similar or more rigorous courseload and attained higher grades then them.</p>
<p>Then again, there's prolly some unassuming kid that doesn't display the usual markers of "intelligence" but still manages to score As in all of those classes, lol (just without performing spectacularly on them, that is).</p>

i guess i'd be one of them, but i don't think we (if i can even use this collective phrase) immediately shun people who got a B in sophomore honors chem or whatever. i don't really see how it's a factor and there are definitely some brilliant people who aren't rank 1, but my school is kind of weird.</p>

<p>^ that used to happen to our school cuz there was no difference between A and A+...we used to have a couple of people who tied...
but now we have the +/- system</p>
<p>all the top ranked people in my class are in the same clique. weirdly enough, the only person of our clique that i'm not on friendly terms with is our valedictorian.</p>
<p>I am. He's one of my best friends. We went to prom together last year, and he was my first kiss in first grade :)</p>

<p>Well, I'm currently val and class president and try to be nice to everyone, but there are always those jealous and competitive jerks who will constantly try to harm people that do better than them....</p>
<p>I'm number three, numbero uno is like my best friend. She is absolutely amazing and there is no comp. between us at all.
Now numbers two and four, we sorta have this comp. going on. Four is planning on outranking both of us, while two just wants to keep her spot.</p>
<p>I'm a sophomore so no "val-sal" stuff determined yet, plus our school's very huge so it's kinda hard to tell.</p>
<p>But serious lulz (if that's possible) at the topic title.</p>
<p>We have 6 or 7 who qualify, I talk to them regularly but am not really 'friends' in the traditional sense with any of them. I think they all fear me a bit, too.</p>
<p>I'd hope I'm friends with myself.</p>
<p>I'm not sure who's what rank, but I'm definitely friendly with if not friends with the kids who are in the top 5.</p>
