Are you still considered to be a homeschooler if you're following a school's curriculum

My friend has always been homeschooled, but follows the curriculum of a school in Florida and has an official transcript from them. She lives thousands of miles from the school but is an enrolled student there, submits her final work to them to be graded. Her parents are the ones who oversee her education, but they pick courses and materials from the school.

When she applies to colleges, will she still be considered a homeschool applicant? She lives in Canada and most of the colleges only require homeschoolers to submit their SAT and ACT scores.

We know a few homeschoolers who did what you describe. And yes, they had to check homeschool on college application because they never attended physical schools. In the Common Application, there is a section where the homeschooler describes the curriculum used. The parents we knew filled those parts out.

I remember some colleges also required homeschoolers to submit something like 3 SAT subject tests too, even though regular school students find not have to. Your friend needs to research each college’s requirements well.
