Are you submitting a personal statement and/or resume?

My daughter is working on her application, and she did not expect to see these questions at the end. I am just curious if others are submitting this optional information. Her test scores place her squarely in the accepted category on Naviance, but she is also interested in the Honors College.

Yes, do the appropriate optional items. She will need the personal statement for other applications. She has plenty of time to work on it. Do not do a resume if there is really nothing to add that did not already get captured in the application sections.

Are you in state or out of state? It is harder to get in out of state, so definitely do the optional items if OSS.

Clemson also ties in merit aid or scholarships with the applications submitted, instead of having to apply separately, so do the optional items.

Their Honors College application has some extra steps and login portals. To demonstrate interest do the optional items.

Good luck to her.

Thank you. That was our thought as well. She is disappointed because she wanted to get her application in early for housing priority. She was online right as the application opened at midnight. She will work on her personal statement today but is going to hold off and submit her resume as part of the the Honors College application.

We are OOS, but I truly don’t see her having any trouble getting accepted.

Don’t worry about dorms; there are always kids like D20 who use their first draw slot and pass on honors dorms, Douthit, etc for RISE and other LLCs.

My daughter submitted her application through the common app today. She is also OOS. She wanted to wait until school started and meet with her counselor regarding her personal statement and essays. Does it look bad to add that later? Thanks and best of luck to all!

It is my understanding that you cannot add either at a later time. When your daughter submitted her application, she clicked a button that stated that her application is final and no future changes would be allowed. I am curious if this is actually the case.
