Just wondering if you Freshmen 2005 are taking a printer with you??

yeah, if not you'll need to bum off a friend's printer or buy one of those copier card things.

you can get a little inkjet fairly cheap these days; i'll probably end up taking one if i can get one for the right price.

yes i am. i don't like paying for copies at the library either

printers are pretty cheap, but if you do'nt get one, the libraries will automatically charge you for what you print.....

d is taking one

ok... this might be a dumb question
are you guys taking the entire computer

getting a laptop

you want to have your own computer (unless you absolutely cannot afford it)....so many profs use email as their primary mode of contact and they send out handouts via email or test review material, etc......lecture slides are often put on line and you will be using email constantly (clubs, friends, teachers, parents, etc).......

Jester East looks cramped for too much stuff. . . laptop + printer is best for me

Jester East isn't so bad for a desktop. Only warning is, you may want a flatscreen monitor because it can get a little tight fitting a deep monitor & keyboard on the desk. Other than that, they fit fine.

jester east? ewww... that place smells like urine.

"that place smells like urine"

hahaha everyone says that

imo... unless ur engineering (they get 1000 free prints) you should get a printer if you dont wanna have to run to the lab before a paper is due and pay ~$.12 per page.

btw... if ur asian, live in Jwest or honors if you wanna be around other asians.
Also, dont eat at J2 ... its a health hazard.

I'm buying a Dell laptop and they give you a free printer with it

I always find I can catch typos and errors better reading from printed paper better than a screen, so I was looking for a small sized printer this week. Staples had a number of refurb HP 4215 all-in-onei ink jet printer, copier, scanner, fax machines (with standard HP 1 year warranty) for $59 after rebate. Course, the extra color and b&w ink cartidges cost almost as much as the printer, but you always have to get ink.

I doubt the fax will get used, but the copier function could come in handy. And with the scanner's OCR, you can import scanned text straight into MS Word (we tried it and it worked great). Even if none of the extras get used, a printer at that cost is hard to beat.

no .
