My school is a very laid back and relaxed place. We have our fair share of future politicians and stuff but we're not compeditive in any way with each other.

I'm the first in my school to be accepted into a decent college in the states. My friends are happy about my acceptance not because they hold Princeton in awe... but more so because they know how much it means to me and that they are genuinely happy for me.

At my school we haven't even had a graduating class...so when i got into cornell i had everybody from my principal to my councilor calling me up. I know they were absolutely thrilled, although they tried to act like it was nothing...They even announced it on our announcements! No one else in my school got into an ivy, also not many people apply from my district, most people go to california schools or asu...so i have felt really special in the last week, especially since most people didn't even think i was smart enough to get in, too much of a partier i guess!

My school was unusually good this year, and through dumb luck I got into Cornell. I can't believe it myself, but no one in my school made a big deal about it (and I am very pleased they didn't).

hmmm. i guess it's kind of a big deal at my school, but only because everyone knows i really wanted cornell. i'm at a public school, but there are plenty of people who are very successful. i guess just be really excited that you're into a school you picked to be your first choice, but like everyone else said... don't let it go too far!

At my school, getting into a prestigous college is quite noteworthy. Over the past few years, Cornell was the only prestigious school students went to. Everone else went to SUNYs or community colleges. So far, my class of '06 has two accepted to JHU ED, myself included, one Boston College, and one Notre Dame. That's as good as it gets in my school, so I guess it's a big deal.
