Are you worried about not finding a 100K+ job after graduation?

hahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaha

Yeah I am PRAYING I’ll get $40,000 a year with my poli sci degree, hulk. :P

HulkHogan, I hope you are kidding. Unless you go into investment banking w/ your poly sci degree, there is no way you will make that much starting.

Doing what, exactly?

Hulk, What kind of job do you plan on getting with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science?

You had better start making a more realistic plan for your future. If you plan on going into government or policy, you need to continue on in a Master’s program. Your other option is Law School. Unless the undergraduate degree is in Nursing, Accounting, Teaching, Computer Science, or something similar to a trade, most will need to continue in a Master’s program. I suppose you could attempt to get into the FBI but they’re looking for Computer Science majors and multi-lingual people. If you’re fluent in Arabic, you’ll have an excellent chance of getting hired by them. Otherwise, don’t even waste your time trying.

Hulk, start saving now for graduate school.

What does a person do with a poly sci degree? (serious question)

I’m thinking about architecture, I don’t know how much it pays and don’t really care. I’d rather have a job I love and have to live with 12 roommates in a tiny apartment then make a mint and have a job I hate.

Just some things to consider…
I think you should feel priviledged to HAVE a job let alone a job with a good salary in this economy!
What do you think the majority of people are making after 10 years or more in the industry?
How much do you think teachers make and look at what they do and have to put up with throughout their day!!

I think you need to count your blessings because one day you may not have anything!!

I don’t want a job, I want a career.

Well, then work for it and earn what you what you want to make!

I live in an area with alot of big government contractor positions and there aren’t enough qualified ppl. to fill the slots hence why these companies are shelling out good money.

Most poly sci. majors well eventually work for the government doing policy work or something mundane and pointless. A decent amount waste their time by going to law school because they believe the practice of law is as exciting as “Law and Order” when infact it’s a far cry from that. They end up $100k+ in debt with a mediocre law degree and no work experience.

…what are you talking about?

People saying they need X and Y outrageous salary to ‘live comfortably’ need to learn how to spend their money.

Anybody that thinks that they will be making $100K right out of school is kidding themselves.
