We are planning a visit to the Academy, as well as “plan B” colleges over Thanksgiving break. I know I read on here some place about recommended hotel (or two) in Colorado Spings/AFA area, I think one was a “suites” variety. I have searched and searched but the names must be buried inside a thread someplace. Can you give me a few hotel names to give a try? I like the suite idea but particularly we would like one that is fairly close to the Academy and clean is important to us! We will be with friends and the group is visiting several colleges of interest to the various kids in the group so we’ll only be in Colorado Springs for one night. Hopefully we will end up staying there many times in the years ahead!

I stayed in the Drury Inn when i went a few weeks ago. It was pretty nice. They had food in the lobby all day, and there were quite a few restaurants to choose from in the area.

Our favorite place to stay when we go to COS is the "Residence Inn Interquest". It is very close to the North Gate, and also near a very nice shopping area called Briargate. They have 2 bedroom and maybe three bedroom suites, full breakfast in the morning, and Happy hour in the evening with enough food some nights to be supper. There are lots of options, but this is our personal favorite.

Extended Stay America on Corporate Drive. Near the Academy, good rates, nice clean rooms with full kitchen, and good management. Some construction is going on in that area, but it is not really bothersome. It is also next to the hike/bike trail for a great morning stroll. Walk across the river (foot bridge) to BiggTown for bowling, mini-golf, and other indoor recreation.

Great Selections to choose from! Thanks. This will surely do the trick! Somewhere in this I am bound to find a place for us.

The Academy Inn (formerly the Raddison Inn North) is right outside the gate. It's decent, but having stayed at others also, I wouldn't consider it outstanding, especially since it tends to be more expensive than the adjacent ones at times.
