DD is starting grad school this Fall in bio engineering, any one have ideas on places to live in the area
What is she looking for? Will she have a car? Does she want to be a certain distance away? DH worked there many years ago and we lived to the west. We have/had friends in Catonsville, Windsor Mill, and Towson but she may want to be a bit closer to the campus. Back in the day, the Homeland, Hampden and Roland Park neighborhoods were nice but my connections there have all moved out of the area.
See https://homewoodgrad.jhu.edu/2021/03/28/fall-2020-graduate-student-workshops-schedule/ contact them for advice.
Try off campus housing office for apartment listings, too.
Craigslist has ads for Charles Village houses. Maybe can get word-of-mouth recs from current faculty or grad students? Take over lease of graduating students or sublet?

Right by the Medical Campus. Geared towards grad students.
Homewood campus isn’t that close to the medical school.
Agree, but BME is sponsored by both WSE and JHSOM and I do not know where more time is spent- Homewood or Medical campus.
No car, will need to be walking distance. Either side of campus.
What do you mean “either side of campus?” The Homewood Campus is about 3 1/2 miles from JHU medical center. I would not recommend trying to walk between the two as there are some rough areas in between. Will your D be mostly on campus or mostly at the hospital? If she’ll mostly be on campus, I’d look in Charles Village. If it’s at the hospital, Patterson Park or Butcher’s Hill neighborhoods would be good but you need to be careful about not going too far north.
I imagine that she will be spending most of her time at the biomedical engineering or whiting, located on the main campus. So it looks like the east side is where people live or possibly SW.
Hi, I think the priority is to be near to homewood campus since some areas in baltimore can be dangerous. JHU have a patrol and you should be within the perimeter they serve.
