Aren't these two prompts asking the same question?

Title says the question I’m asking about these prompts. I was planning on writing out my academic/professional career plans in detail for prompt 1 and justifying them, but that would leave nothing left for prompt 2. I’m not sure how to answer the Common App transfer on why I want to transfer (already done), prompt 1, and prompt 2, without being repetitive.

Prompt 1: Johns Hopkins University was founded in 1876 on a spirit of exploration and discovery. As a result, students can pursue a multi-dimensional undergraduate experience both in and outside of the classroom. Given the opportunities at Hopkins, please discuss your current interests (academic, extracurricular, personal passions, summer experiences, etc.) and how you will build upon them here.

Prompt 2: In your personal statement on the Common Application, you explained why you are seeking to transfer. Please explain in detail why you wish to transfer to Johns Hopkins University specifically.

Prompt 1 is the standard “why hopkins?” The same prompt is the freshman application supplement.
Prompt 2 is unique to transfers. I would not worry about repeating details, there should be substantial agreement between these two.
My strategy would be to focus essay 1 on how Johns Hopkins is a good fit for you globally (medicine, interdisciplinary research, music, etc) and focus essay 2 on your reasons for transfer and specifically elaborate on how JHU meets your transfer goals. This essay 2 should address the same reasons for transfer laid out in your common app essay.

Prompt 1 is all about you, your wants, needs and desires, your plans and experiences.

Prompt 2 is about how Johns Hopkins in particular fits your needs.
