Argh.

So I sent my deposit for Penn, was all set and happy. Then, out of the blue, Carnegie Mellon comes along and offers to give me 7k a year in scholarship money. Now it’s back to square one. I know there have been threads on this, but I will ask again: Is Penn worth about 30k more than CMU? I’m doing DMD at Penn and CS at CMU, but I’m not super crazy about CS. I just want to do graphics, which involves CS. Anyone out there who can offer advice? Thanks so much!

...bump? :(

You know, I think that this will really just come down to your own priorities. If you do change majors, which school will give a good education for whatever you may go into? Given that you are in a certain major, what will the pay off when you graduate? Is the school good for that major? How tight is your financial situations? Are both schools comparable in terms of education?

I think that those are good questions to both ask yourself and to discuss with your parents.

yes, that untimely CMU. i just got my scholarship from them too. i intend to use it to bargain with my other schools.

by the way, if you're not sure about CS and you really like graphics, i heard Penn's DMD is great and gets many awards.

have you considered bargaining with a Penn financial aid officer? it's definitely not too late for that, since they haven't handed out the upperclass financial aid packages yet

Should I call them? I've already mailed them stuff. Thanks!

do what it takes... i mean what can you lose? They won't give you a better fin aid package? atleast you'll know that you tried
