Hey this is my first post, sorry if i dont follow proper forum etiquette just yet!

Anyways I graduated from an arizona high school back in '05 and attended one semester at an out of state college the same year. I think it would be an understatement to say that semester was a disaster(ie: couldnt afford books, financial aid not covering even 1/2 of my tuition not to mention all my other expense, being the only person in my family to attempt college, only job I could find resulted in not being able to attend a class). Ha! Not trying to justify my failures just trying to explain what in the hell resulted in a 1.86 GPA (E, C+, B-, B).

Now just two weeks ago I applied at Arizona State(dont worry im an AZ resident!) and even though I hear the acceptance rate is around 90%, I'm very worried I may fall into that 10%! Does anyone have a decent understanding of the admissions process? If I did fairly well in high school and bombed that one semester how will they look at that? And if I AM denied admissions, is it something I should even bother to appeal? Or would I be better off going to a community college.

Thanks in advance for anyone if you have any thoughts, comments, advice... or even want to laugh at my expense! (Assuming I don't drop dead of anxiety first!)
