Arizona State or Penn State MBA? Please help!

Hello,

I have been accepted into the online program and both Arizona State University and Penn State University. I am having trouble deciding which school to attend. Penn State is a bit more expensive, but finance is not a major issue. Neither school seems to distinguish between an online MBA and a resident MBA on the diploma, which is great. Does anyone have any opinions on the schools? They both provide a general MBA in the online program.

Thank you!

Hi HD81,

I am a current student of the ASU online program and I really like the program and feel I am learning a great deal. There is a three day orientation at the very beginning, where you get to know your team and meet your professors, as well as participate in a case competition - it's a great experience and you learn so much! And the administrators are great - they take feedback very seriously and are very quick to respond to any issues or questions. Also, the online format is very effective, I think. The professors for the most part respond very quickly to student questions, and the material is very well put together. You can really tell the professors and staff care about thier students - I really think they put an emphasis on customer service, and they do a very good job! I hope my post helps in your decision, as I highly recommend this program to anyone who is looking for a quality online MBA degree.

PS: You may also be interested in the most recent national rankings for the ASU business school - I don't remember the website, but I do remember ASU was ranked 22nd nationwide, and this includes schools like Harvard, Stanford and Princeton. Good luck with your decision!

Thank you Amber. Since my post I found out the Penn State actually does give a different diploma to their online students. The diploma earned in the online MBA program does not say Smeal College of Business on it, but the diploma given to full time students does, so to me that isn't good. They should not be giving different diplomas if the programs are the same, just a different method of delivery. I am choosing the ASU program due to the fact that you get the same diploma, which speaks to the quality of the program.

I have narrowed it down to these final two, and was leaning towards Penn State. Your response about the different Certificate settled it for me. ASU it is! Thanks!
