Anyone live in Arizona or know someone at ASU? Do they like it there or what? Whats the word about the school and the social life? One of my friends visited the campus and loved it. I’m trying to decide where to go if USC turns out to be a negative…Thanx!

U of A > ASU

wasn't arizona state ranked number party school ?

how the hell could you pick ASU over USC?

dude maybe you need to read... she said IF she doesn't get into usc

depends what your majoring in, and what interests you. If its business i would say U of A. As too the number 1 party school, that was in 2002, they are now not even in the top 20. The school made a drastic turnaround.

maybe YOU need to read. she said "I'm trying to decide where to go if USC turns out to be a negative...Thanx!"

if USC turns out to be a negative? what does that mean exactly? does that imply "if she doesn't get in"?

post script: if she's applying to USC, she should have no trouble getting into U of A or ASU. you'd think she'd apply to other schools that match the caliber of USC.

who knows ? maybe arizona state is a backup for her ? let's wait for her to post again

from the post it sounds like she's more concerned with the social/campus life....ASU is more like a safety school. a good backup/match would be like UCI or UCSD.

Ya...ASU is my back up. But im still waiting to USC for architecture...I either want to do that or interior design. ASU is ranked #2 for interior design and architecture there is ranked in the top 10 for west coast. I thought if i dont get into USC for arch which is my absolute dreammmm school then i would go to ASU for 2 years then transfer...I just want to know what the school is like there at ASU...I live in So Cal by the beach and im afraid to move to the desert...So i want to make sure i know everything about it. ::note:: I didn't apply to U of A. Thanx i would appreciate any insite at alll!

My sister went to ASU. I think she liked it. I know that recently the school has begun to turn around its bad reputation (opinion) of being a party school and academics. But architecture is good at ASU. I am not sure if you are going to like the weather. I live in Tucson and it is over 100 degrees for the summer (May to September). I know that Phoenix is even hotter. It is also colder during the winter. I like Tempe though. Maybe just because Tucson has very little to do for teenagers so anything seems like an improvement to me. It probably doesn't take to long to get to a beach from Phoenix. You can go down to Rocky Pointe, Mexico in like 8 hours and probably like less than six hours to get to San Diego.

I live in Scottsdale... about 20 minutes or so away from ASU. The campus is nice and the weather is great. The people ive met when i've gone on campus seem nice enough and Mill Avenue is awesome for shopping. Good luck with USC though!

I live about 20 minutes away from the campus but go there all the time. I absolutely love the surrounding area and have heard good things about the school itself, esp. about the honors program. Even though it is considered a big party school, you can get as much or as little as you want out of it. My aunt, uncle, and both parents went there and they seemed to enjoy it.

I got into both ASU and UofA and am going to visit both next week. ASU is extremely easy to get into (both are) but they have some strengths and it seems like you are interested in one of the things they are strong in. Both are huge party schools and ASU is supposedly #1 in the country in STDs. Right now I personally prefer the U of A (by a lot, actually, everything I've read about the school is awesome so far) but I'm giving both a shot.

If you dont get into USC you might think about going to summer school at ASU, to get the feel of it. ASU is pretty much SoCal without the beach. There is tons of shopping within 20min, some great food on Mill Ave(the street that most Asu students hangout at). Also realise that since Arizona is going through a housing boom, there will be opportunities for jobs and internships.

Not true PLAYBOY will be publishing party school issue and releasing it on April 7th. ASU is on the top ten list again and also rumored to be number 1. ASU isn't listed in Princton Review's top 20 but when it comes to parties I'd say that PLAYBOY knows their ****.
