Hey! What would be the pros and cons or the better school for engineering. I would Like to go into either Computer Science or Computer Engineering. BOTH would be out of state (Michigan):( and I am not taking about the money just which would be a better college over all AND just in the area I asked above? I have heard that MIAMI OF OHIO isn't a good engineering school.

ALSO this is where it gets a little tricky, just in case I want to switch majors and go into LAW(be a Lawyer), what would be the better PRE LAW school. I know you can go to law school with an engineering degree but still. If I want to switch majors or something because most of the time the first year or so at any colleges are usually more or less the same.

For example if ASU is the better school for engineering and then Both are tied for Pre Law it would make more sense to go to ASU. YOU could flip it around both are equal at engineering but then Lets just Say ASU was better again at prelaw then it would make sense to go there yet again. Both scenario are hypothetical

What is wrong with your fine in-state publics (University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Michigan State University)?

You can do pre-law with any major. Indeed, doing it from an ABET-accredited computer science or engineering major may help you if you want to go into patent law. So there is no reason to switch majors. (Both Arizona State and Miami (OH) have ABET-accredited degree programs in computer science and computer engineering. So do University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and Michigan State University.)

What would the cost for each school be to you, and would you have to take a lot of debt for either one?

Arizona State, Miami (OH), and Michigan - Ann Arbor have a typical grading system, including A+ grades (which are worth 4.33 for law school application purposes).

Michigan State has a 4.0, 3.5, 3.0, 2.5, etc. grading system, which appears not to allow for A+ or equivalent grades. So if you are capable of getting A+ grades, the lack of such at Michigan State may make it slightly disadvantageous to go there in terms of law school applications.

LOL, what is PRE LAW? Do you get a degree in that? You might want to do some research.

WELL "Informative"Well I ONLY SAID PRE LAW as in what colleges will prepare me for the BAR and Law school thats all.

This is to “ucbalumnus”

Got deferred by UMich and Denied by State.

Yes I do know that.

Miami of Ohio would be the most cost considering it would be around $35,000 a year
ASU on the freshmen College Merit Scholarships was offering me around $10,000(give or take a thousand). So it would about $21,000 to $23,000 a year.
MSU is not an option and I am still waiting to hear from UMich. I am a bright student just lazy. Basically every kid applies to MSU, CMU and Umich at my school which was a bad thing to me. THe MSU person told me the only thing wrong with my appication would be the negative trend in my grades but I changed my ways and now even with 3 ap/ib classes and 3 decent hard classes will get a 4.0 even though it wont count towards college anymore :’(
